1st Mini MeetUp

•Tuesday,8 April, 2008 • 8 Comments

It’s On!

After having a bit of feed back on where we should meet up considering that some need to come from the city, public transport and parking, we the many have decided.

The first meet up will be at The Ship Inn at the southern end of Southbank just opposite the end of the Goodwill Bridge.

It’s an easy walk from the city, plenty of paid and street parking and easy access from trains and busses.

HERE are the directions for getting there.

This is an open invitation to all so spread the word and bring the mob.

I’ll be getting there about 5.

I’m @iankath if you need to tweet me :-)

OK. Yes there is a social site template set up.

Just understood how this works.

It seems Melbourne, Sydney and Caneberra have set up Twitter User Groups via the template set up here.

If some one wants to fiddle with that go for it and set up a Brisbane Twitter User Group there.

I just threw this together to get things rolling.

First BTUB Meetup

Greetings all.

Welcome to the first post of BTUB (that I know of) at least on WordPress.

If you want to get me I’m @iankath

Today it was suggested by @cybner that maybe we should meet up as she was going to be in Brisbane on Wednesday and would like to do the catch up thing.

Well the chat has gone around a little and I thought I’d throw up this quick blog for a common focal point.

I suggested that Lock ‘n’ Load in 142 Boundary Rd West End would be suitable venue as there is relatively easy parking and it’s a pretty ok venue. @ManiacD @cybner are both cool with that.

@snagy has mentioned he is on Eagle St as is @jeffwharton and a venue in the city may be more suitable. My two bobs worth is that traffic is a bitch in the city so getting out would be good.

If you want to make it close to the city I thought that maybe The Ship Inn at the southern end of Southbank could be good. The parking is ok around there if your driving and it not too far and a pleasant walk from the city over the Goodwill Bridge.

Lets talk and get the word out.

Cheers :-)
